Dear Friends & Members of Warriors Nation!

What a first year it has been! We had a lot of excitement and anticipation around Major League Rugby’s first season, but we had no idea how challenging and fun bringing this dream to reality could have been.

Firstly, we couldn’t have done it without you! The support of Warriors Nation at our home games and while on the road has been amazing! We love seeing the hats, jerseys, car stickers and t-shirts filling the great state of Utah with the buzz of the Utah Warriors.

And your energy at home games was more than felt by the players and staff! In fact, it was what helped us get into the playoffs as chants of the “Warriors” and “Utah” rang through Zions Bank Stadium in our final home match on June 23rd! So, thank you!

Secondly, let me tell you how powerful the support of Warriors Nation has been. Through your commitment the team has been able to achieve the following:

  • Utah Warriors averaged 4,678 attendance per game in 2018
  • Set domestic professional rugby game attendance record: 9,186 (March 30, 2018)
  • Launch of the members-only club called the Warriors XV
  • Four Utah Warriors added to the 1st and 2nd All-MLR Teams:
    • 1st All-MLR Team: Paul Lasike and Tonata Lauti
    • 2nd All-MLR Team: Matt Jensen and Alex Tucci
  • MLR #1 scoring team during the regular season
  • MLR #1 try-scoring team during the regular season
  • Tonata Lauti finishing as the MLR Top Try-Scorer for the inaugural season
  • A semifinal appearance in our first year of competition in the MLR

These are some amazing things to achieve in just our first year of play and we could not have done it without Warriors Nation!

With all of the logistical complexities of starting a new professional league and team, not to mention playing in two different venues, one of which was a brand-new stadium, to have had the success the Utah Warriors had is a credit to you and this great state’s love for rugby. So again, thank you!

We are always looking for ways to improve our operations and your experience including, but not limited to social media outreach, parking, ticketing, concessions, merchandise, hospitality/VIP experience and other in-stadium seating options.

And we have appreciated the great feedback from many of you already in our recent Utah Warriors 2018 Survey. If you haven’t had the chance to respond to this survey, please take 5 minutes and let us know how we can better serve you: TAKE THE SURVEY HERE.

Some of the things we are excited to announce already are our revised 2019 ticketing options and year two plans for the Utah Warriors and Major League Rugby.

Eight-game 2019 Season Ticket plans are already on sale now with preferred renewal rates. We’ve also heard your feedback and have updated many of the seating options and prices to all of our 2019 games at Zions Bank Stadium.

More news is on the horizon for 2019 schedules, teams and plans, but Warriors Nation can expect a robust and strong 2019 MLR competition that will span from the West Coast to the East Coast. And the 2019 season will be here before you know it with play starting at the end of January!

So, if you haven’t already now is your chance to join Warriors Nation by purchasing 2019 season tickets or getting in on our 2018 merchandise clearance sale. Visit www.WarriorsRugby.com for all of the details.

Coach Alf Daniels is rounding out his 2018 reviews with the team and we’re already underway with our 2019 team and player planning and it’s our goal to improve in all areas on and off the field. As the bar raises for the MLR in 2019, we will expect the Utah Warriors bar to be that much higher for our players, the coaching staff and everyone affiliated with the Utah Warriors organization.

And it’s our hope that you and the rest of Warriors Nation join us in raising the bar in our commitment to make the Utah Warriors and Major League Rugby the success that we all want and know they can become!

In the meantime, let me thank you again for the great support and commitment to making year one of the Utah Warriors a success! We look forward to seeing you all at upcoming functions during the off-season and at home games not only in 2019 but in the many years to come!

Go Warriors!
