Before you head to the pitch, get to know the Utah Warriors.
Our Team
The Utah Warriors are one of the seven founding members of Major League Rugby, with our inaugural season happening in 2018. The MLR now has 13 teams in the league; no other professional sports team in North America has seen this kind of league growth in its early years.
The Utah Warriors played their first game in 2018 at Rio Tinto Stadium with 9,176 fans in attendance before moving to Zions Bank Stadium, which has become home to Warriors Nation. The Utah Warriors have continued to lead the league in fan attendance each season with multiple sellouts in 2021 and five out of the top six game attendances in 2022.
The Utah Warriors were the first team to have a full talent pathway put in place and it continues growing each year. The Utah Warriors pathway begins with our Jr. Warriors league and clinics for children that introduce kids to rugby skills. As boys enter high school, they can be recruited to our Warriors Academy teams to train with top-level coaches and compete against other academy teams. As academy players finish high school or college, they can move up to the Utah Selects team where they prepare to make the jump to Major League Rugby.
With the Warriors heading into their sixth season, the Warriors are looking to build North America’s epicenter of rugby on and off the field.

Our Mascot
Our mascot is Koa the Warrior Panther!
Sporting the team’s hallmark “four stripes,” emblematic of the Warriors’ organizational Core Values of “Community, Family, Tradition, and Respect,” the black panther is a symbol of the diverse communities of Utah, that is a veritable “Crossroad of the West.”
Koa represents all fans as he binds together the melting pot that is the Warriors Nation. Standing for our Core Values, Koa is the voice of our rugby family and guardian of the Utah Warriors community as he protects our tradition and leads with respect.
The black panther’s tenacity, strength, and sense of community make it a perfect symbol for Warriors Nation.
