GAME OPERATIONS

JOB TITLE: Game Director

DEPARTMENT: Game Operations

REPORTS TO: Game Operations Manager

The Utah Warriors are a founding member of Major League Rugby now in its sixth year of operation. ABOUT THE POSITION: The Utah Warriors are looking for a dynamic and dedicated Game Director to join the game operations team. This individual will organize and direct entertainment for each match throughout the season as well as lead and inspire the team members they work with. The Game Director will be responsible for managing a game script and directing the match.

PRIMARY Responsibilities:

The Game Director will produce and direct the in-game run of show and entertainment for 8 Utah Warriors games plus playoffs 

  • Direct – Run of Show
  • Produce game scripts
  • Secure national anthem performers, honor guard, break zone, and halftime entertainment  
  • Manage vendors 
  • Provide match entertainment / halftime entertainment 
  • Manage and lead game operations personnel 

○ PA announcer, Mascot, Hype Team, Red Cap, Music Director, Emcee, Game operations manager. 

  • Operate and manage a game operations budget

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

  • Must be dynamic and personable 
  • Must be self motivated and have the ability to lead 
  • Be available for each home game 
  • Work at home preparation 8 – 12 hours per week

TICKETING

JOB TITLE: Lead Ticket Sales Representative

DEPARTMENT: Sales

REPORTS TO: Ticketing Director

About the Position:The Utah Warriors are looking for a high-energy individual to focus on increasing their fan base. This person must possess a positive attitude and the ability to adjust quickly to frequent adjustments consistent with a startup franchise and league. Must be willing to step into any role or project needed and work closely with the front office and team staff to provide a fluid, enjoyable experience for all clients and fans.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work primarily with individuals to provide hospitality solutions that best fit their needs
  • Meet effort and result criteria established by leadership
  • Develop relationships with previous ticket buyers, small business owners, engaged fans etc. to purchase an appropriate ticket package
  • Acquisition of new clientele through outbound calls, stadium meetings, out of office visits and other potential ticket holder events
  • Work with team to maximize results with sponsorship and ticket sales as well as service departments
  • Communicate progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives
  • Utilize home games as an ideal way to build relationships, showcase our product and provide support for all aspects of putting on a major event.
  • Help to grow awareness around the Utah Warriors brand through community involvement, engagement, opportunities and other team events
  • Assist in gameday preparation and creating fun fan experiences
  • Ability to work all Utah Warriors home games, possible weekends or holidays
  • All other duties necessary as part of a startup sports franchise and league.
Necessary Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of ticket sales experience
  • Fundamental understanding of basic computer programs
  • Experience using AXS ticketing system
  • Tireless work ethic and ability to communicate with a diverse setting of individuals each day
  • Ability to present to corporate executives

STREET TEAM AND EVENTS

JOB TITLE: Events Marketing Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Street Team

REPORTS TO: Events Supervisor

JOB TYPE: Part Time/Hourly

About the Position:The Utah Warriors are looking for multiple motivated and energetic Events Marketing Specialists to join the Gameday Events, Team Store and Street Marketing Teams. These specialists will help raise the creative bar of the events we attend as well as lead and inspire the team members they work with, while remaining rooted to the core values that drive us as an organization. The Events Marketing Specialists will be responsible for the execution of our various events, including gameday production, community activation events, as well as ensuring partnership marketing needs and team store and merchandising plans are appropriately facilitated around each of these events. This job is perfect for someone who loves sports, and especially rugby, and is interested in learning the sports and entertainment industry by meeting people and working with the youth in the area.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support and fulfill the event set up and logistics on the day and in advance in coordination with the Street Team & Team Store Manager and Events Supervisor
  • Ensure event runs smoothly and is engaging
  • Ensure event set up and operations are run professionally
  • Help with client experience/answering questions if necessary
  • Add to the client experience by making the event tent a fun and exciting place
  • Setup, take down and storage of event gear
  • Attend/manage event booth at a variety of events throughout Utah
  • Transport gear to and from events
  • Coordinate with other related Utah Warriors staff members as needed, including the Partnerships & Events Director, Partnership Marketing Manager, Gameday Operations Manager, et al.
Necessary Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs regularly
  • Must be able to work standing and walking around for up to 12 hours

HIGH PERFORMANCE INTERNSHIP

JOB TITLE: Performance Coach Internship

About the Position:The Utah Warriors are currently accepting internship applications for the 2023 season. The Application Deadline is Tuesday November 15th 2022.

Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a professional rugby high-performance department. The role may fulfill course credit if necessary. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution of strength & Conditioning sessions, rehab sessions, and sports science support for senior and academy squad athletes, the successful candidate will also receive professional development throughout internship program. There will be opportunities to work with many sport science technologies including but not limited to: Force Plates, GPS and Velocity Based Training Devices.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with daily screens
  • Facilitating prep to train and recovery sessions
  • Assist in coaching of S&C sessions in gym and on field
  • Management of the GPS/Load tracking analysis
  • Working closely with performance staff in athlete rehab
Necessary Skills & Qualifications:
  • Candidates will preferably have an undergraduate degree in a sports and exercise science or related topic
  • Have an interest in field-based sports
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Candidates must demonstrate their ability to work independently on assigned tasks and to deliver outcome goals effectively

ATHLETIC TRAINING

JOB TITLE: Athletic Training Internship

DEPARTMENT: High Performance

REPORTS TO: Head Athletic Trainer

JOB TYPE: Part Time/Hourly

The Utah Warriors are a founding member of Major League Rugby now in its sixth year of operation.  With a focus on Community, Family, Tradition and Respect the Warriors are building a staff of diverse individuals who work tirelessly to bring this young franchise and brand forward as one of the most respected teams, staff and customer-facing entities in all of sports.

About the Position:Assist with day-to-day operations of the department during the pre-season, regular season, and playoffs: including prepping training rooms, stocking supplies, providing water to players during practice, and serving in the capacity of a first aid provider.

This is a paid internship and will be performed at our central office in Herriman, UT.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the entire sports medicine team to provide evidence-based injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation programs for athletes.
  • Complete injury documentation and treatment records as required by Major League Rugby.
  • Report athlete information and updates to the medical team in a timely manner.
  • Assist with inventory and stocking of supplies.
  • Assist with stocking and packing for away matches.
  • Assist with match day set up at all home matches.
  • Assist with practice and match day coverage.
  • Support the performance and medical team with additional duties as necessary to meet the needs of the organization.
Necessary Skills & Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
  • Must be BOC Certified
  • Must carry Utah DOPL License to Practice Athletic Training
  • Must carry Professional Liability Insurance
  • Rugby experience is preferred, but not required
  • Completion of World Rugby Player Welfare Modules (can be completed upon hiring)

TEAM OPERATIONS

About the Position:The Utah Warriors are seeking a Team Operations Intern to work with our rugby operations team in supporting our athletes. The internship will assist the Director of Team Operations. The intern will have the opportunity to learn and be involved with a variety of essential tasks; including but not limited to monitoring communication with other teams in the competition, coordinating travel, game day set-up and tear down, generating reports, and other associated tasks as required. Supporting the athlete is an important component of our on-field team, and this internship is critical to supporting those efforts.

This is a paid internship and will be performed at our central office in Herriman, UT.

  • Assist in game day operations.
  • Assist with player logistics and support.
  • Help develop and maintain communication processes between players, vendors, and staff.
  • Submitting and reviewing reports.
