SALT LAKE CITY, UT (February 21, 2018) —The Utah Warriors Board of Directors have added the expertise of Adobe’s Vice President of the Experience Cloud Legal group, Wade Sherman. Sherman joins the Warriors Board bringing years of corporate legal, mergers and acquisitions and operational expertise.
Warriors Interim Chairman Dean L. Howes was grateful to add someone with Sherman’s legal and corporate profile.
“The Warriors and Major League Rugby will stand to gain much from Wade’s experience,” Howes said, “He’s not only passionate about the game of rugby, but he’s passionate about building a professional and commercially viable product like the MLR and the Warriors that will help grow the game he loves.”
As part of his responsibilities, Sherman will join Warriors CEO and GM Kimball Kjar on the Major League Rugby Board of Governors which oversees the planning, expansion, and activities for the MLR.
As the Vice President of the Experience Cloud Legal Group, Sherman’s team provides support for the Digital Experience Business Unit of Adobe. Sherman has also served as Adobe’s Chief Privacy Officer and is currently the Site Leader for Adobe’s site and operations in Lehi, Utah (approximately 1,300 employees).
Prior to joining Adobe in 2009, Sherman spent six years at Omniture, as Chief Privacy Officer and VP, IP & Licensing. Before joining Omniture, Sherman worked for several years as a patent attorney at the law firm of Jones, Waldo, Holbrook & McDonough and the 2002 Salt Lake Olympic Organizing Committee. Sherman holds a degree in biology from the University of California, Berkeley and Brigham Young University, and a JD from the University of Utah.
Sherman also has a background in rugby and his passion for the sport still lives today. As a player, Sherman was an important part of the Cal Berkeley team that won National Championships in 1991 and 1992, before transferring to Brigham Young University and playing two years for the Cougars.
“Rugby is a fast-paced, highly physical sport that is exhilarating to both play and watch. But much more than that, it provides an unparalleled platform for rewarding discipline, grit, and hard work” said Sherman. “Culturally, it is founded upon one overriding principle: mutual respect. This includes teammates, coaches, officials, and opponents. It’s an honor to be part of the ground floor of Major League Rugby in America.”
