Selects face MPD All-Stars again at home
Herriman, Utah — November 13, 2020. Fresh off of a thrilling 28-27 win at home against Northeast Rugby Academy, the Selects prepare for a rematch against the MPD All-Stars. The teams will meet for the second time at Zions Bank Stadium Saturday, Nov. 14, at 1pm MST.
After a cold and rainy evening victory over Northeast Rugby Academy, the Selects have been preparing intensely to take on the team that bested them at the beginning of their season. In the three weeks following the initial matchup, the Selects have learned from each week of competition and set their sights on starting a win streak by taking back the victory from the All-Stars.
“We are very grateful for the MPD All-Stars stepping up to play us this weekend,” said Brandon Sparks, Utah Warriors Director of Rugby. “We were winning for seventy minutes last game before MPD’s experience was able to take over and earn the win. Our players took some lessons from that game and applied them every week, along with some new experience that they gained playing the 404 and Northeast Rugby Academy. This match will be a great way to measure individual improvements as well as team ones against a formidable opponent.”
This weekend’s match is sold out. However, to purchase tickets for the final Selects home match on Nov. 21, visit www.warriorsrugby.com/warriors-selects-matches/. This ticket will also grant you access to the live, in-person 2021 Warriors team announcement show prior to the match (READ MORE).
