Selects prepare for final match of 2020 fall series
Herriman, Utah — November 20, 2020. After winning the rematch against the Men’s Premier Division (MPD) All-Stars 27-15 last weekend, the Selects, the Utah Warriors official developmental team, prepare to cap off their season with a game against Legacy Rugby Academy. The final match will take place at Zions Bank Stadium on Nov. 21 at 1:00pm MT.
Legacy Rugby Academy (LRA) is a Michigan based program that dedicates time to training college-aged players and preparing them for professional and national leagues. Playing LRA is another opportunity for the Warriors coaches to see fresh talent from across the country and gives the Selects the chance to be tested by a new pool of talent.
“We are looking forward to hosting Legacy Rugby Academy this week and giving a younger side a run out against an experienced team with some dangerous athletes,” said Brandon Sparks, Utah Warriors Director of Rugby. “The match against Legacy will be one last opportunity for our guys to show us what they have and why they deserve a crack on the top team, as well as allowing us to check out some players from the Midwest for future consideration. Legacy has a strong history of developing MLR-ready talent.”
Prior to the match against Legacy, the Warriors will announce their 2021 MLR team with a live, socially-distanced program at Zions Bank Stadium, beginning at 12:30pm MT. Tickets to the Selects match will also grant you access to the live program.
Doors open at 12:00pm MT, and the first 100 fans to show up will receive a free Warriors drawstring bag and thunder sticks.
Saturday’s match is currently sold out. However, if you do not have tickets, you can watch our live-stream of both the roster show and the game on our Facebook page.
