(Salt Lake City, Utah) – The Utah Warriors and San Diego Legion combined to score 21 points in the final 7 minutes of the match to top off a tight match, with the Legion prevailing 31-21. With the win, the Legion maintain their top position in the league with a record of 11-3 and 57 points on the board, while the Warriors season falls to 2-11-1 with 17 total points.

The Legion score in the 73′ minute and was quickly answered by John Cullen in the 78′ minute. With the Tim O’Malley conversions and 2 minutes left the score was 24-21. The Legion, however scored a minute later taking the final score to 31-21 with time running out.

The Legion beat the Warriors earlier this year by a score of 21-10 and while this game was still a loss on the record, the Warriors improved on key statistics beating the Legion in time of possession and line-outs won.
“We knew this would be a tough one, they are sound top to bottom and we could not catch them in the end.” said team Captain Tim O’Malley, who had 6 points on the evening.

The Warriors next match is Sunday, May 26 at the Seattle Seawolves. The match can be seen locally on KMYU-TV. The last match the season for the Warriors is Saturday, June 1st against the Houston SaberCats who upset the New Orleans Elite today 27-21.
