About the Utah Warriors
The Utah Warriors are the first professional Rugby team based in Utah participating in the inaugural season of Major League Rugby (MLR), America’s newest professional sports league. The Utah Warriors will kick off their season in March of 2018 with the 7-game MLR home season running until July competing against Austin (TX) Elite Rugby, Glendale (AZ) Raptors, Houston SaberCats, New Orleans Gold, San Diego Legion and the Seattle Seawolves. The Warriors aim to bring elite-level professional and international rugby to Utah, representing the Warrior mentality that is within each of us: We stand strong, we stand as one.” For more information, contact [email protected], follow on social at @warriorsrugbyofficial or visit their website at www.warriorsrugby.com.
MLR is a professional rugby league that will launch in April of 2018. It’s an initiative of the American rugby community, in partnership with private investors, who believe that American rugby can thrive at the highest levels: as a commercial enterprise; as an influential player on the international scene; and as a participation sport at the youth and senior level. MLR will be the pinnacle of the American rugby, and provide a rallying point for local communities, a focal point for American rugby fans, and an aspirational destination for young athletes.
Real Salt Lake recently concluded its 13th Major League Soccer season in 2017. The club’s MLS Cup 2009 victory marked the state of Utah’s only major professional championship in nearly 40 years, the title preceding an historic run to the 2010/11 CONCACAF Champions League Final. Buoyed by a passionate base now approaching 14,000+ season ticket holders, RSL has enjoyed a prominent home-field advantage since building its permanent Rio Tinto Stadium home in Sandy.
