Utah Warriors to host series of Pro Days
APRIL 20, 2021 — HERRIMAN, UT. The Utah Warriors today announced they will host a series of Pro Days on various college campuses across the United States.
The Warriors will bring these Pro Days to five different locations in Salt Lake City, Utah; Tucson, Arizona; St. Louis, Missouri; Philippi, West Virginia and Brighton, Michigan throughout the coming months of June and July.
By making this announcement the Warriors are highlighting their early intentions towards the 2022 season and beyond by developing and recruiting America’s top rugby talent, says Utah Warriors Director of Rugby, Brandon Sparks.
“If the MLR 2021 season has shown us anything it’s that draft picks will play a role on match day,” said Brandon Sparks. “There is so much undiscovered rugby talent in America that we want to be proactive in going out and finding players that can contribute to the Utah Warriors.”
Players who participate in the Pro Day will take part in ten unique testing stations: height and weight measurements, L drill, biomechanical assessment, small-sided games for skill assessment, scrumhalf timing, kicking assessment, vertical jump measurement, 3RM bench press and 3RM squat.
It is anticipated that Pro Days will last a minimum of four hours and no longer than six hours.
The Warriors will host the first of five Pro Days on June 4th at Legacy Rugby Academy Brighton, Michigan, to be followed by a second Pro Day on June 12, 2021, at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman, Utah.
The exact locations and times of the other three Pro Days will be announced at a later date.
All attendees must be MLR College Draft Eligible in order to participate in these Pro Days.
Additionally, in an effort to build and develop young rugby players in the communities, the Warriors will put on clinics for high school players in conjunction with each Pro Day.
Players who are interested in participating in this unique opportunity are encouraged to register below.
