Utah’s Fraser Hurst Named To Rugby Canada Traveling Roster
Langford, BC — Rugby Canada Head coach Kingsley Jones has named 30 players of a 32- man squad that will travel to the UK in July for two test matches against Wales and England, a roster that includes Utah scrum-half Fraser Hurst.
Hurst will travel with Canada to take on Wales on July 3rd at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. Canada will then travel to London, England the following week on July 10th to take on England at Twickenham Stadium. These two matches will serve as preparation for upcoming Rugby World Cup 2023 qualification matches this Fall for Canada.
“Our Canadian scout identified Fraser this past offseason as future international and when we did our film he was as good as advertised,” said Utah Warriors General Manager Brandon Sparks. “His play this season has warranted a call up and it’s great to see him get his senior opportunity while being with the Warriors”

Hurst, a first-year scrum-half for the Warriors, is from Vancouver, Canada and was selected to the Rugby Canada U18s tour of Ireland in 2016 and played with the U20s in the World Rugby Trophy competition in 2017. During this same time, Hurst also attended the University of British Columbia and played for their rugby team all four years.
Hurst becomes the fifth member of the Warriors that will join their respective national teams for tours this summer. Fellow Warrior teammates Mika Kruse, Mikey Te’o, Paul Mullen and Michael Baska were named to the USA traveling roster earlier this month.
