WARRIORS HOST AUSTIN ELITE RUGBY TONIGHT at Zions Bank Stadium
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – The Utah Warriors are set to host Austin Elite Rugby in the Major League Rugby Match of the Week shown on CBS Sports Network nationwide. The game will take place tonight at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman, Utah and starts at 7:00 PM MST. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.warriorsrugby.com/tickets/single-game or at the Zions Bank Stadium box-office. The match will play rain or shine.
The Warriors will be looking for their first regular season win of the inaugural 2018 Major League Rugby season.
Austin is led by Head Coach Alain Hyardet and Todd Clever, who is also a member of the USA Men’s Rugby team. Austin Elite is coming off of a 30-17 victory over the NOLA Gold. The win was Austin’s first of the season.
The Warriors are coming off a heartbreaking loss to the top-ranked team in MLR, the Glendale Raptors. Despite leading in the 70th minute, the Warriors fell at home to Glendale 36-29. Team Captain Paul Lasike said “we lost two really close games to MLR’s leaders. It’s always tough to lose, but we can see improvements from week to week. We’ve trained well together as a team this week and are looking to deliver our first win for our home crowd”.
This week sees the addition of two Eagles to the 23 man squad: Lock John Cullen and veteran utility back Mike Palefau.
