Warriors Host Utah Youth Rugby Night
Salt Lake City, UT–Ahead of Friday’s 7pm Major League Rugby’s National Game-of-the-Week Broadcast pitting the Utah Warriors against the Austin Elite on the CBS Sports Network, the Utah Warriors are pleased to partner with the USA Rugby designated youth and high school governing body, Utah Youth Rugby (UYR) to sponsor “Utah Youth Rugby Night.”
The UYR boasts the nations second largest youth and high school rugby playing population in America and is growing at unprecedented rates.
“The UYR is on track to do some exciting things from our recent growth,” UYR President Owen Power said, “Rugby is America’s fastest growing sport and Utah is bettering the national average. So partnering with Utah’s first professional rugby team the Utah Warriors will only add fuel to that fire.”
The partnership for Utah Youth Rugby night gives all UYR players, staff and family admission to Friday’s 7pm MT matchup between the Warriors and the Elite at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman, UT for just $10, with proceeds from the ticket sales going back to Utah Youth Rugby to support their growth.
“We see this partnership with UYR with the intention of building not only the fan base but also future Warriors,” said Utah Warriors CEO and GM, Kimball Kjar, “We want kids aspiring to be Warriors and we want to inspire the next generation of rugby players through events like this.”
Other events during the game will include a Warriors FanZone with drills and skills challenges for young fans as well as in-game entertainers for families and young kids.
