Warriors Selects replace Connecticut with MPD rematch
Herriman, Utah — The Utah Warriors today announced an adjustment to the Warriors Selects Fall Series schedule with the Connecticut Selects being forced to cancel their Nov. 14 match against the Warriors Selects, due to COVID-related travel restrictions. As such, replacing the Connecticut Selects will be a second match with the Men’s Premier Division (MPD) All-Stars.
“We are living in a really interesting time,” said Warriors Director of Rugby Brandon Sparks. ”We appreciate the constraints being placed on the Connecticut Selects for everyone’s safety. We wish the match-up could’ve happened, but we’re also very excited and grateful to have such a great team to replace this vacancy with playing the MPD All-Stars again. It will be a fun match again and just another great opportunity for this community to see some of the state’s best rugby players go head-to-head one more time in 2020.”
The Warriors Selects hosted the MPD All-Stars this last Friday night at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman, Utah to a COVID-constrained sell-out crowd, with the All-Stars surging late to win 28-13. The two will meet again at Zions Bank Stadium, Nov. 14 at 1pm MT.
Due to COVID-19 attendance restrictions for this second Selects vs. MPD All-Stars game, the Warriors organization will implement dynamic ticket pricing on a first-come, first-serve basis for the limited number of available seats. Tickets can be purchased at www.warriorsrugby.com/warriors-selects-matches/.
The Warriors Selects are slated to travel to Atlanta this weekend, as they face off with Rugby ATL’s development team the “404.” The Saturday, Oct. 31, game will kick-off at 12pm MT.
