Warriors Wednesday: Thank You!
To say “thank you” seems like empty and hollow phrase after a season like 2019. But with 3,380 people attending our last home game on Saturday, despite our poor record, it seems apropos that we sincerely show you our gratitude for always being there for this team.
With a season that started with promise but inevitably ended with an 8th place finish in a nine-team league it’s hard to vocalize our disappointment. But in the weekly feedback we received from the fans, the passion, some honest and real and some unconditionally positive, was real and palpable.
Despite the results I wish to send my sincere appreciation to the fans, families and partners of the Utah Warriors. You have all stood by us every step of the way this season in sunshine or snow!
Our staff and their families have also stood behind their efforts week in and week out no matter the result. And above all the players and their families stood tall throughout a grueling 19 week and 16 game season that obviously wasn’t to their or anyone’s liking. Our sincere appreciation to them all!
We’re currently rounding out our year-end reviews with the staff and players and we look forward to making the necessary adjustments that will ensure the Utah Warriors not only deliver on our stated goal to build America’s epicenter of rugby, but above all deliver the type of 2020 season Warriors Nation can be proud of.
We’re excited about the future of the MLR as we are set to grow from nine to twelve teams. And with that growth will come some new and more dynamic challenges on and off the field. But I assure you we are moving aggressively to ensure the Warriors are ready to tackle whatever the 2020 version of the MLR decides to throw at us.
We thank you again for sticking with us as a fan base despite the results. We hope you’ll take the time to fill out our 2019 Warriors Nation survey in the upcoming days to help us better deliver on the MLR’s top fan experience. And we hope and trust you see the potential that this team has in what is America’s fastest growing professional sports league.
Keep your cowbells warm because 2020 should have need for plenty of ringing! Thanks again Warriors Nation!
This will be our last 2019 Warriors Wednesday post. But stay tuned to WarriorsRugby.com and our social media channels for upcoming 2020 announcements!
