Gannon Moore, a second-year center for the Utah Warriors, is from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. His older brother introduced him to rugby, which he began playing in 2015 for Sioux Falls High School. He played rugby for the rest of his high school years and attended Southwest Minnesota State University on a football scholarship.
Moore was NSIC All Conference & NSIC Academic All-Conference while at SMSU. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, he joined the Kansas City Blues in 2013. During his stint with the Kansas City Blues, the side played with the Denver All Stars three years in a row and won the Rugby Town 7s tournament back-to-back in 2015 and 2016. Moore was invited to train at the USA OTC 7s in 2015. He played for the Denver Stampede before moving to Auckland, New Zealand to play for the Silverdale Rugby Club.
In March of 2017, Moore was brought into the North Harbour Mitre 10 Cup training squad. He represented North Harbour in 7s and 15s, including a 10s tour to Kuala Lampur Malaysia. November 2018, saw Moore making his USA Eagles debut against the Maori All Blacks and his first official cap against Manu Samoa.
Moving to New Zealand turned out to be more than just for rugby. Moore would go on to meet his fiance there. They live in Whenuapai and enjoy traveling, the great outdoors, and the New Zealand beach life. Moore also enjoys reading and on the rare occasion, playing World of Warcraft.
