Jared Whippy, a third-year fullback for the Utah Warriors, was born and raised in Fiji and is the second youngest of six children. He moved to New Zealand in high school and played for coach Alf Daniels at CCNZ. As a high school senior, Whippy moved to play rugby in Utah for United Rugby and helped them win their first national championship. After serving a two-year service mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kiribati, he returned to school at Brigham Young University where he was a Collegiate All-American, captain and National Champion. He has also represented Fiji in basketball, playing point guard in the South Pacific games.
Whippy is married to his wife Kaitlyn, and they have one child. His twin brother Joshua also plays for the Utah Warriors.
