Josh Anderson, the 6’4’’ wing , is a native of Salt Lake City, Utah, where he grew up skiing, biking and riding horses in the Utah mountains. His years of rugby were with Highland, from 2007 to 2010, helping Highland win 3 high school national titles. Anderson was a high school All American and was selected for the USA U-20s in 2010. However, he opted to for a two-year service mission instead, so he hung up his rugby boots for two years while he served in Belen, Brazil.
Upon his return in 2012, Anderson rejoined the University of Utah football team. Then, when he transferred to BYU, Anderson resumed his rugby career , helping BYU win two collegiate national titles. Also during this time, Anderson was part of the 2015 Collegiate All-American 7s team and the Utah Selects 7s squad. This squad won the Elite 7s national titles two years in a row, in 2016 and 2017. Following the 2017 national tournament, Anderson trained with the USA Eagles 7s team at the Olympic Training Center, in Chula Vista, California.
Anderson is a sales manager at Digicert, in Lehi, Utah, and is married to Courtney. They have a daughter, Cora. He still loves getting on a horse and riding into the Utah mountains whenever he can.
