Te’o, Mikey

Mikey Te’o, a second-year wing and fullback for the Utah Warriors, is from Long Beach, California.

Mikey played with the club team Belmont Shore starting in 2009, advancing through the U16s and U19s, and helping the club team win the USA Club Nationals 15s D1 Championship in 2012. He also helped them to a Club 7s Championship, claiming a 7s MVP title along the way. Mikey then attended Long Beach Polytechnic University and played football there for two years before choosing to focus on rugby.

Mikey is part of the USA Eagles’ XV and 7s national teams. He progressed through the USA Rugby program with the National U20s, helping the United States win the IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy in 2012. He debuted for the Eagles 7s team at the Gold Coast Sevens that same year. He has played for the Eagles 28 times, starting 22 of those matches and scoring 16 tries.

Te’o was named to the MLR First-Team and earned the honor as the 2021 Major League Player of the Year following his first season with the Warriors.
