Tonata was born in Vava’u, Tonga and is one of thirteen children. His family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1996 where he attended Highland High School. Nata played many sports like football, wrestling, basketball, soccer, track & field, but his love was rugby. After serving an LDS mission in West Africa, Nata attended the University of Utah, and played Rugby for the Utes. Nata thrived at Utah and was selected as a Collegiate All-American for both 15’s and 7’s. Nata currently lives in Lehi and is a co-owner and operator at Lauti Construction.
