Mark Drown was the chief architect and head coach of the Utah Cannibals 7s team comprising the cream of Utah’s 7s youth players. Today the Utah Cannibals are the premier youth 7s Select program in the nation and serves Utah as the All State Team and developmental pathway into the Utah Warriors.
Drown also played rugby for the Patomic Rugby Football Club in Washington DC, the All Army team and Humbolt University. While at the California State University – Fresno, Drown switched to soccer and played in the NCAA DIV 1 .
Drown began coaching the All Army 7s rugby team in 2012, a role he still plays today. All Army has won 6 Armed Forces Championships and 8 All Army players have played in the US National 7s team. From 2017 to 2018 , Drown managed the Fiji National 7s team for the HSBC Series, the 2018 Commonwealth Games and the 2018 Rugby 7s World Cup.
Drown holds a Masters degree in Teaching/Coaching, from Humbolt State University and a Masters degree in Strategic Studies from United States War College.
