Saia ‘Uhila, Crossroads Cup Competition Chairman
Saia ‘Uhila, a fifth-year lock for the Utah Warriors, grew up in Tonga playing 1st XV rugby for Liahona High School. Because of humble circumstances and limited family resources, ‘Uhila put his younger brother Loni’s dream of becoming a professional rugby player before his own. Loni, “The Tongan Bear,” played for the Hurricanes Super Rugby team and is now playing with Clermont in France.
‘Uhila is Warrior No. 2 and current lock for the Utah Warriors. In addition to playing for the Warriors, he oversees the Crossroads Cup Competition – an entry point to the Utah Warriors Pathway for adult players. ‘Uhila is an active member of the Utah Rugby Community, working alongside community coaches and players as they grow the sport at the grassroots level.
