Shawn Pittman, Head Coach

Pittman initially made a name for himself as a USA U20 standout before spending two years with the London Welsh Rugby Football Club from 2010-2012. Pittman holds the honor as USA Eagle No. 396, where he appeared in 30 test matches from 2008-2013.

Arriving shortly after overseeing the forwards for the USA Eagles in the 2019 Rugby World Cup, Shawn Pittman assumed the duty of pushing the Utah Warriors to a successful 2020 campaign as an assistant coach under Chris Latham before the season was cut short due to the spread Covid-19.

Pittman was tagged as the Warriors’ Interim Head Coach for the 2021 season following Latham’s departure. His impact as head coach was immediately seen on the field as the Utah Warriors won a franchise-record 10 games and advanced to the 2021 Major League Rugby Western Conference Championship Match. In recognition of his tremendous success during the 2021 season, Major League Rugby honored Pittman as the 2021 Coach of the Year. As a result, the Warriors removed the interim tag, naming Pittman as the Head Coach of the Utah Warriors.

“My family and I are very excited about our future in Utah and can’t thank the management and ownership enough for their support,” said Pittman. “The players have created something great and I look forward to another amazing season ahead of us.”
