Interim Head Coach
Arriving shortly after overseeing the forwards for the USA Eagles in the 2019 Rugby World Cup, Shawn Pittman assumed his newest duty of pushing the Utah Warriors to a successful 2020 campaign as part of the coaching staff.
Pittman made a name for himself as a USA U20 standout. He then spent 2 years with the London Welsh Rugby Football Club from 2010-2012. He was also called up as USA Eagle 396 where he appeared in 30 test matches from 2008-2013.
Pittman’s impact as a coach is going to be felt immediately. During his time with the USA Eagles, the lineout success was 89%, while scrum success averaged at 90%. These are two key components of rugby, and Pittman is looking to bring that success to the Utah Warriors.
“Utah has always been known for big and powerful players,” Pittman said. “I’m looking forward to joining the Utah rugby community and Warriors Nation.”
